Euro 2012: Can Spain End France's Pain?

The Attack

Karim Benzema has had 15 shots so far at Euro 2012 - but no goals to show for his efforts. Non of their strike force - Menez, Benzema or Giroud have scored a single goal between them so far. Still, the only team to have knocked France out at this stage of the competition recently have been Greece at Euro 2004. France failed to score again then, too, suffering a shock 1-0 defeat. They will need all of their strikers to find their shooting boots if they are to see off Spain. Spain meanwhile recorded the biggest margin of victory in the Euro 2012 group stages, thrashing the Republic of Ireland 4-0. They haven't failed to score in any of their past three group games. They will equal the European Championship record of 10 matches unbeaten if they avoid defeat tonight and Vicente del Bosque's men have won three of their last four games against France, all of them friendlies. France however boast the impressive stat of being the only side to have beaten Spain twice at the Euros - excluding penalty shootouts (beating them in 1984 and in 2000). I can't see them continuing this statistic however. The goals seemed to have dried up for France whilst Spain have been scoring for fun. Verdict: Yes
