Everton 1-1 Arsenal: 5 Things the Gunners Learned

4. Theo Walcott Is A Striker

Theo Walcott has played a bit part role this season under Arsene Wenger's stewardship, but he has proved game after game that he is ready to take on the striker's mantle. He has clearly transformed into a masterful finisher over the last few years, and he can drop off the shoulder of the last defender with frightening pace and verve. His early strike against the Toffees proved again that he no longer deserves to be labeled a winger. He has already reached double figures at this point in the season, and he has done almost everything to show Wenger that he is capable of leading the tri-pronged Arsenal offense. If Olivier Giroud can provide what Arsenal lack in the air, Theo Walcott can more than provide the clinical finish that has evaded Gervinho for so long. I suspect that Theo Walcott is well on his way to becoming the next prolific goalscorer at Arsenal assuming that Wenger can convince him to commit his future at the Emirates.
