Everton: Worst Ever Premier League XI

7. Lars Jacobsen (RB)

Lars Jacobsen is a name that many Everton fans are likely to have forgotten quickly. The Danish defender signed in August 2008 on a free transfer from German side Nurnberg, signing an initial one-year deal. After missing most of his first season at the club because of a persistent shoulder injury suffered while on international duty with Denmark, he eventually made his debut against Portsmouth in March 2009 and featuring in a 3-1 win against West Ham in May of the same year. His most notable appearance was as a substitute in the 2009 FA Cup final against Chelsea, replacing an injured Tony Hibbert and somewhat helping to nullify the threat of a rampant Florent Malouda. Despite having made only 13 appearances for the club, and failing to shine in any of them despite his efforts in the FA Cup final, Everton were reportedly keen to keep hold of the Dane. He eventually joined Blackburn Rovers in June 2009 of that year, joining West Ham a year later before returning to Denmark with FC Copenhagen.
