Everton’s 2004/05 Champions League Qualifying Squad – Where Are They Now?

11. James McFadden

Everton landed one of Scottish football€™s hottest prospects when they snapped up James McFadden from Motherwell in 2003, but the youngster struggled to make the step up to the English game. Things improved for Faddy the following term, but 2004-05 was a difficult campaign for the young Scot, who found consistency and gametime hard to come by. His frustrations were only compounded by Moyes€™s unwillingness to deploy him in his natural position as striker. Say what you will about McFadden€™s hit-and-miss spells at Everton, his playing career certainly hasn€™t lacked longevity. At the age of 32, he€™s still going north of the border, in the midst of a third spell with Scottish Premiership side Motherwell.
