4. Alan Stubbs
Liverpool-born Alan Stubbs was the bedrock of the Everton defence in 2005, making 36 appearances and captaining the Blues in a number of them. He scored one goal from centre-back that season, heading the opener in at 2-1 win against Portsmouth. After ending his playing career with Derby County in 2008, Stubbs returned to Everton to take up a coaching role. Years later, he was interviewed for the vacant managerial post after Moyes left Goodison to join Manchester United, missing out to Roberto Martinez. Fast forward to 2014, and Stubbs joins Hibernian as head coach, crediting Martinez has his inspiration to become a manger in his own right. Hes been a great success in the Scottish capital, overseeing an extensive rebuilding programme in the wake of Hibs relegation to the Scottish Championship, and has been tipped as a future Everton manager.
