6. Dennis Siver

Where: UFC Fight Night: McGregor vs. Siver

This one was BIG for Conor McGregor. He had a promised title fight if he was victorious, and the Boston crowd were right behind their adopted hero. He was up against Russian veteran Dennis Siver, who had become somewhat of a litmus test of the division at that point in his career.

The bout was already hyped, and it only exacerbated the tension when Siver refused to touch gloves before the fight, hilariously prompting McGregor to give his opponent the middle finger, much to the delight of the crowd.

The first round was classic McGregor, testing the straight left while throwing plenty of kick variations at the shorter, stockier Siver. The Russian did well to avoid most of them, but started copping more and more blows as the Irishman found his range.

The longer the fight went on, the more bloodied and beaten Siver became.

Although he just survived an onslaught thanks to round one ending, Siver couldn't hold out much longer, being knocked down with a brutal body shot early in the second and being finished off with some heavy ground and pound.

McGregor was on his way to a title shot.
