Every Conor McGregor UFC Fight Ranked From Worst To Best
5. Nate Diaz I
Where: UFC 196
The first half of one of the all-time greatest feuds in MMA history. It's the rivalry that was formed by fortune and timing, a clash of personalities that fans didn't know they needed.
McGregor was aiming to become a dual-champion, but Diaz was forced to step in for injured Lightweight Champion Rafael dos Anjos on just a two weeks notice off the back of his now-famous post-fight call out of the Irishman.
It looked to be all going McGregor's way in the first round, trading with Diaz and opening him up above the right eye and landing some big left hands. Even into the second, proceedings were following the same vein.
That is until Diaz finally landed a pair of big shots to the melon of his Irish opponent, and from there he absolutely tee'd off in one of the most entertaining single round performances you'll ever see. He pummeled McGregor with right jab after right hook, tucking into him with a series of shots against the cage and getting him to the ground where he wrangled The Notorious One around, getting his back and choking him into submission.
It was an electrifying final two minutes that had the crowd going absolutely nuts.
