15. Chelsea - Fernando Torres

When Fernando Torres agreed to sign for Chelsea in 2011 he became the most expensive player in British football history, and for good reason.

The Spaniard had proven utterly unstoppable during his time at Liverpool, seemingly scoring goals for fun, but had already suffered a series of devastating injuries when London came calling.

At Stamford Bridge, Torres failed to replicate the success that had seen him strike fear into the hearts of defenders up and down the country, failing to break into doubles figures for league goals in a single season during his entire spell at the club.

However, despite failing to consistently reach his full potential, a crucial last-minute goal to secure Blues passage into the Champions League Final in 2012 no doubt means that to Chelsea fans, Torres was worth every penny.
