Carlo Ancelotti has enjoyed a distinguished career in charge of some of the world's top clubs, winning domestic honours in all of Europe's big five leagues.

Despite his current reputation as a well-travelled manager, Ancelotti spent the entirety of his playing career in his native Italy, winning Serie A with both Roma and AC Milan and reaching third place of the 1990 World Cup.

Unfortunately, despite twice capturing the European Cup in the twilight of his time on the pitch a persistent knee injury led to Ancelotti being forced to hang up his boots at age 33, but not before he managed to leave the game on a high by bagging a brace after coming on as a substitute with just 20 minutes remaining in his final game for Milan.
