2. Pep Guardiola - Manchester City

Despite having earned a reputation as one of the world's greatest managers, Pep Guardiola initially captivated the footballing world with his playing ability, emerging as a graduate from the legendary La Masia academy.

Under the tutelage of another famous player turned manager, Johan Cruyff, Guardiola would play a pivotal part in Barcelona's successes throughout the 1990s, capturing a European Cup, numerous domestic honours, and more than forty international caps along the way.

After leaving his boyhood club in 2001, Pep would continue his career with stints in Italy, Qatar, and Mexico before calling time on his time on the pitch to take charge of Barcelona B and embark on one of the most dominant runs in the history of the game in 2007.
