Manager: Alex Ferguson

Points: 90

Other Honours: League Cup, Community Shield, Club World Cup

Continuing with United in the late 2000s, this season United were even more impressive then usual, most notably outside the Premier League, picking up three other pieces of silverware, as well as finishing runners up in the Champions League and reaching the semi-finals of the FA Cup.

Looking at just the league itself, 90 points were scored as they fended off their closest rivals Liverpool, who themselves only lost two games all season under Rafa Benitez. Their defence was particularly inspiring, conceding just 24 goals all season, yet despite having some of the best forwards in world football, they only managed 68 goals.

A more efficient United team perhaps, but no less successful.
