6. Gareth Bale
The Expectation Bale was the second highest points scorer last year, according to Sky Sports' stats, thanks to his impressive goals tally and assist-rate, and with the player still around at Spurs with the transfer window drawing to a close, despite a summer of flirtation with Real Madrid, a lot of players will have put Bale in as a sneaky high-scoring option. Bale would have been a guaranteed points miner, bringing both goals and assists from midfield, and along with Suarez and Yaya Toure, his valuation was never a real consideration, because the return was so high. The Problem You shouldn't need this spelling out - Mr Bale has left English shores to take on the next hurdle in his career at Real Madrid. He won't be scoring goals in the Premier League, or laying them on for other players like Adebayor and Defoe, as he did last year, and now Spurs are going to have to rely on players like Roberto Soldado to score more individual goals, as well as untried Premier League quantities like Erik Lamela and Cristian Eriksen. Both look like good prospects, but in a Moneyball style game like Fantasy Football, gambles aren't there to be taken.
