Fantasy Football Tips: 9 Essential Transfers You Must Make In Gameweek 30

6. Loïc Rémy

Team: Newcastle United (vs Fulham, away) Position: Forward Value: £8.0m Selected by: 6.8% Total score: 120 Rémy talents are undeniable from his performances during his stint at a disastrous QPR last season and his consistent, hardworking performances he delivered during the start of the season. At £8.0m,Rémy would be a great asset to any Fantasy Premier League. But there is a big question mark about his ability to deliver on the Fantasy Premier League field. In 23 appearances this season, he mustered the basic 2 points on 10 occasions, with the bulk of them coming in after Gameweek 14. Sure he might be making the necessary and crucial runs, holding the ball well and spraying rather accurate passes for his teammates (According to Squawka, his average passing rate is 82% over an average passing distance of 13m, pretty impressive for a forward), but ultimately as shallow as it sounds, we're only interested in points. After missing out on his team's encounters with Sunderland, Chelsea and Tottenham after his red card against Norwich, he notched up 8 points apiece in Gameweek 27 and 28, suggesting that he's starting to get back to his best. The Magpies have a manageable fixture list starting from Gameweek 30, with only Liverpool and Arsenal, maybe Manchester United posing a real threat. Against bottom-of-the-table Fulham this week, Rémy would relish this opportunity to add to his tally of 13 goals and 2 assists. However, one problem that popped up recently. He's suffered an ankle injury, which puts his odds of playing at 75% (at time of writing). For me personally, if you're willing to take a risk, and are looking to free up funds to bolster your midfield, I will replace an expensive striker with Rémy, who more often than not will secure comparable points to high-flying scoring leaders, but you have to jolly well make sure your midfield is strong enough to compensate when he doesn't deliver the goods.
