2. Look At The Fixtures

For the best players, fantasy football is much more than simply assembling a squad and hoping for a few goals to go in. It's about strategy, planning, and precision. It's about doing research and making informed decisions, and part of that research includes looking at the fixture list and working out which players have the best chance of success in the coming weeks.

Again, this all ties into the same idea of not picking players purely based on their names or the reputations of the clubs they play for. In the first two rounds of fixtures for example, Arsenal have got Man City at home and then Chelsea away. Burnley, meanwhile, kick off against Southampton away before playing Watford at home. So even though Burnley are a lower ranked and less flashy team, their players could provide much more value in the early-goings of the season than Arsenal stars like Aubameyang and Lacazette.

This applies throughout the season. Like in a game of chess, it's important to think a few moves ahead and choose players based on the next few weeks, rather than just one game. If you have the time, researching fixture history can also be a smart move to see which match-ups might produce the most goals.
