FifPro XI: 11 Players Who Statistically Should Have Been In

3. Luis Suarez - Liverpool

Position: Striker Age: 26 Market Value: £46 million Previous Clubs: Nacional, Groningen, Ajax The controversial Uruguayan has undoubtedly been one of the most lethal strikers in the world this year and could even be considered to be the best player in the world at this moment in time on his current form. The European top goalscorer has scored an impressive TWENTY-TWO goals so far this season and is the only Premier League player to feature in the Stats XI. On top of this, the striker has contributed a further 5 assists for his team-mates (as well as scoring some absolutely brilliant goals - particularly against Norwich City). Since signing for Liverpool for £22.7 million in the January transfer window of 2011, Suarez has gone on to score 60 goals in 94 appearances for the Merseyside club, as well as scoring 39 goals in 71 games for Uruguay. Despite only being ranked by Bloomberg as the World's 15th best player in 2013, it has been argued that the striker could be in with a shout of future accolades for the best player of the past year, especially since this season has been arguably Suarez' most successful yet, and despite missing the first 6 games of it he has a goal record of 1 every 0.77 games, which is better than a goal a game.
