25-year old Brazilian midfielder Fred has arrived in Manchester for his medical ahead of a proposed £53 million move to Man Utd from Ukrainian Premier League champions Shakhtar Donetsk.

The Daily Mail ran a story this morning confirming José Mourinho's wishes to make the player his first major signing of the summer transfer window, and it appears Mou wants the deal wrapped up before Fred jets off to Russia as part off Brazil's World Cup squad.

Fred played in Brazil's 2-0 friendly win over Croatia at Anfield on Sunday, and he's since made the short trip to Utd's Carrington training ground to thrash out terms on the move.

After a rumoured move to Man City this past January fell through, Mourinho jumped at the opportunity to steal Fred's talent from a rival. It seems he's pulled it off, and even Fred's Brazilian teammate Gabriel Jesus chimed in by telling The Daily Mail he'd personally support his friend's move to England.

Since moving to Shakhtar from Internacional in 2013, Fred has won 10 trophies, including three Ukrainian titles.
