Martin Jol's Fulham side slipped to a third straight defeat at Anfield, as Liverpool tore them to shreds in a 4-0 drubbing. Four Fulham shots on goal compared to 32 from Liverpool tells its own story, and it was a meek surrender from a team who are currently playing their way into a serious relegation scrap. An own-goal from Fernando Amorebieta mid-way through the first half was what Liverpool just about deserved, as Fulham held their own relatively trouble-free in the opening exchanges. However, a bullet header from Martin Skrtel confirmed their surrender, and a Luis Suarez double either side of half-time increased the pressure on Jol to unbearable levels. It is fast approaching that time of year when the trigger fingers of owners and chairmen get itchy, and the financial cost of relegation becomes too hard to risk. Ian Holloway at Crystal Palace has already departed, of his own steam perhaps, yet even a boss as patient as Steve Parish may have done the deed before too long. Paolo Di Canio too is out of work after a shocking start at Sunderland. Only Mark Hughes, Jol's predecessor remains from those below Fulham, and he is still settling in at the Britannia Stadium. With Fulham in as poor a run as this, how long before Jol becomes the second Premier League manager of the season to get the sack? It seems fairly inevitable right now, and here's why.
