Hull 2-3 Man Utd: Premier League Player Ratings

Manchester United

David De Gea: Beaten twice from close range, but could do little about either goal. Took a big chance when he lost a deep cross at 3-2 up late on. Got away with it though and saved from Chester at the death. 5.5/10.

Rafael: Injured his groin during a torrid first quarter for Red Devils and had to be subbed. Rating N/A. Chris Smalling: Headed in a Rooney free kick to bring United back into it. Best of a bad bunch defensively today. 6/10. Jonny Evans: Poor clearance led to second Hull goal, which he diverted past his own keeper. Cannot use youth as an excuse for mistakes like this anymore. 4.5/10. Patrice Evra: Out-jumped by Bruce for Hull's opener. Deflected a long range Huddlestone drive behind in second half. This was one of those occasions where he hindered his own side at set pieces. 5/10. Antonio Valencia: Moved to right back when Rafael injured. Booked in second half for bringing down Sagbo. Now banned for Norwich game as this was his fifth yellow. Sent off late on for kicking the ball away. Needless dismissal on an anonymous performance from the Ecuador captain. 3.5/10. Tom Cleverley: Decent effort saved by McGregor at 2-1, but made no other contributions to the cause. 4.5/10. Darren Fletcher: Steady performance on first start in over a year. Had one tame effort trickle through to Harper in second half. Subbed after an hour. 5.5/10. Click next for more Manchester Unired player ratings.
