Liverpool Transfers: 10 Players They Should Sign
6. Danny Ings
Why They Should Buy Him:
Like Charlie Austin, Ings is a young English forward who bought himself widespread acclaim this season despite playing for a club that got relegated. He scored 11 in 35 Premier League appearance for Burnley, and while that's not on the same level as Austin, it's not to be sniffed at either.
A mobile forward with an eye for goal and a lot of potential, Ings would fit well into Liverpool's high-energy squad. He's out of contract this summer, and while the Reds would still have to pay a compensation fee for him as he's under 24, he'd be a solid acquistion that wouldn't cost the earth.
Why They Shouldn't:
Ings has had some serious injury problems in the past, having had knee injuries that have kept him out for up to six months at a time. Given how Liverpools results and goal tally have suffered as a result of Daniel Sturridge's constant injury problems this season, they might not want to take the risk of buying another promising striker susceptible to serious injuries.
Additionally, his goal tally hasn't been as high as some of the other players on this list - scoring just 38 in 122 games for Burnley and given the disappointing scoring records of Lambert, Borini and Balotelli this season that has to be the main factor in Liverpool's recruitment.
