Why They Should Buy Him:

For the last couple of seasons Benteke has been one of the most sought after strikers in the Premier League. A powerful forward, he's basically unplayable when on form, able to batter defences into submission. He's a strong finisher and is deceptively mobile; a wide and varied set of attributes that make him ideal to lead the Reds forward line.

He'd also be available. It's been widely reported that he has a £32.5 million release clause in his contract with Aston Villa, and while that's a lot of money it'd mean no prolonged transfer saga or Villa rejecting all offers out of hand if the reds decided to go for him.

Why They Shouldn't:

While Benteke did manage to hit form again when Villa needed him for their relegation battle, there was a long period this season where he just couldn't score. Given the amount of money they'd be spending on him, this is a concern the Liverpool management need to think about. They can't afford another striker struggling to put the ball in the net.

Benteke can also be a volatile character and can let his temper get the better of him when provoked. While not as bad in this respect as Balotelli and Suarez, Liverpool may decide they've had enough of such problem strikers.
