Why They Should Buy Him:

Liverpool still need a world-class striker to replace Luis Suarez, and Suarez' international teammate Edinson Cavani might be the best option. He'd offer varied threats; he's a fantastic goalscorer who can score thrilling goals from nowhere, and is a clinical dead ball specialist.

On top of being an established international with Uruguay, he's got a lot of experience playing with teams in top flights across Europe, having spent time at Napoli and winning the French Ligue 1 twice with Paris Saint-Germain. His scoring record for these two clubs is particularly impressive, scoring 78 in 104 games for Napoli and 34 in 65 for PSG.

Why They Shouldn't:

Cavani has spent a lot of his career playing second fiddle in strike partnerships with superstars. He's been support for Zlatan Ibrahimovic at PSG and for Suarez with Uruguay. Even at Napoli it was arguably Ezequiel Lavezzi who was the main man. While this creates hope for a fantastic partnership with Daniel Sturridge or another forward, he might not be the man to carry the team in the manner of Suarez or Fernando Torres.

Additionally, he'd be expensive as PSG would want to recoup some of the 64 million euros they paid for him if they even wanted to sell him, and with Liverpool out of the Champion's League he might not even want to come.
