Liverpool: 8 Things Brendan Rodgers Must Do To Improve In 2015
7. Better Use Of Substitutions
Some of Rodgers substitution choices have left a lot to be desired so far this season, and time and time again you find yourself scratching your head at his odd decisions. There have been numerous examples to choose from, whether it be his inexcusable decision to bring Adam Lallana off at half-time against United when he was Liverpools best player, or making left-back Alberto Moreno one his changes when two goals were needed to keep the Reds in the Champions League against Basel. Last season, the 41-year-old had the luxury of a fresh, fit squad for much of the season, and his starting eleven almost picked itself week in, week out. Games were often already won by the time he chose to make a change, and it made little alteration to the eventual result. Now, he is having to change things in order to turn round a deficit or cling onto a lead, and he is being shown up. He is still young and learning, of course, but its an area of his development he needs to improve in.
