Liverpool Transfer News: £23m Deal For Johnson and Allen?

Rodgers eyes up Swansea and Man City players in a part-exchange.

Express. Allen is likely to be snatched up for £15m, while a curious part-exchange deal is said to be in place for England winger Johnson, with Rodgers hoping to offload Daniel Agger to Man City for a mere £8m if they can get Johnson in return. Rodgers, likely content now that Luis Suarez€™s future is secured at the club, is looking to find ample support before the summer transfer window closes, with Maxi Rodriguez, Dirk Kuyt and Alberto Aquilani all making their exits recently. Rodgers will tend towards enticing midfield options, and 21-year-old Welsh international Allen has been thought a likely choice for a while now. It will be down to Rodgers, and whether he will make an offer that Swansea's boss Huw Jenkins will find satisfactory, which is believed to be £15m. Meanwhile, Man City boss Roberto Mancini reportedly doesn't have a lot of faith in Adam Johnson, who has repeatedly been overshadowed by the likes of Samir Nasri or David Silva during his tenure at the club. Johnson has made only ten Premier League starts with the squad, and it will likely be down to wages as to whether he sticks around. However, such a shrewd move might impact his international favour with Roy Hodgson.
