Liverpool Transfer News: Clint Dempsey Plus Cash For Carroll

American set to be offered as part of a deal for the big former Newcastle striker

the Daily Mail, Fulham are interested in offering Liverpool the chance to sign American attacking midfielder/forward Clint Dempsey, who has been linked to the club all summer, in exchange for the services of Andy Carroll. The deal would also involve a cash fee on top of the player, with Liverpool keen to claw back some of the astronomical fee that took Carroll to Anfield last January. Carroll has enjoyed only sparse fortune since making the move, and though he hasn't publicly stated he wishes to leave Merseyside, he may find that he struggles for first team football in the manager's new system, with the former Swansea man likely to return the club to the famous pass and move ethos of former years that worked so well for him at Swansea. The London club are the latest team to be linked with a move for Carroll after West Ham, AC Milan and former club Newcastle were said to be monitoring the situation in recent days. The fact that they hold Clint Dempsey as a bargaining chip could propel them to the front of the queue of prospective buyers, as the American, who has enjoyed a good few seasons at Craven Cottage would be a good signing for the new Liverpool regime. So what do you think Liverpool fans? Would you take Dempsey as a replacement for Carroll? Share your thoughts below...
