Liverpool Transfer News: Phillipe Coutinho SNUBS Anfield Move

talksport. The 20-year old is considered the most exciting young prospect in South American football and Brendan Rodgers is keen on bringing the Brazilian to Anfield to add some flair and attacking impetus to his side. It was thought that Inter would be willing to listen to offers, with the player valued at £10 million. But Coutinho doesn't want to leave the San Siro. He told Sky Italia:

"The Liverpool offer? I'm happy with these offers, because it means I am doing my job well. "But I think Inter have faith in me and I want to show my value here. I don't feel that I'm on my way out. I hope to stay at Inter."
The news will come as a disappointing setback for Rodgers and it looked likely that he would get his man earlier in the week. We reported two days ago that he had improved his opening offer of £5 million for Coutinho, which was rejected. Inter have monetary problems and look like they need the cash generated by the sale of their players after flogging Wesley Sneijder to Galatasaray earlier in the week. Rodgers was hoping to make Coutinho his second winter signing after the capture of Daniel Sturridge from Chelsea.
