Liverpool are in such dire need of a left-back, it’s embarrassing. Alberto Moreno’s horror show against Sevilla in the Europa League final may have cost them some silverware, but the worrying thing for the Reds is that it wasn’t even out of character for the Spaniard. Similar to his predecessor Jose Enrique, Moreno has been prone to clumsy errors and losses of concentration at crucial moments.

Liverpool supporters have been driven mad, and are screaming for the club to replace him. Aaron Cresswell is one of the finest left-backs in the league, and is tailor-made for Liverpool. Had he not just signed a long-term deal at West Ham - and just injured himself shortly afterwards - he might even be the subject of a bid this summer. The 26-year-old was on the books of his boyhood club as a youngster but was foolishly released as a teenager.

The former Ipswich defender is coveted by many teams across the league, with Man City reported to have been heavily interested earlier this year.
