6. Mats Hummels
Mats Hummels is a World Cup winner and a two times Bundesliga winner, playing an integral part in these triumphs. The German international has been linked with Manchester United in the past few transfer windows and it would be a huge bonus if Liverpool were two beat their rivals from down the East Lancs road to the signing of Hummels. Last summer Liverpool bought Dejan Lovren for around £20 million and there were rumours that Hummels was available for £5 million more, so it is a surprise that Brendan Rodgers didnt try to sign the Dortmund defender. His leadership would be vital in the Liverpool defence and he would fit right in alongside the ever improving Mamadou Sakho. Even though it looks like that Jordan Henderson will be the captain once Steven Gerrard departs for LA, there could be an argument for a natural leader like Hummels to take the armband. With Dortmunds struggles this season a move to Anfield would tempt the German to play in a young, growing Liverpool side.
