6. Gary Hooper
Club: Celtic A sensation since singing for Celtic a couple of years ago, Hooper has scored 46 goals in 67 Scottish Premier League appearances for the Glasgow club after joining from Scunthorpe and his current contract situation - and the breakdown in negotiations in particular - might provide the space any interested team might need to swoop in and sign him. If his desire to return to England is true, and he has the ambition to play for England, Liverpool may represent the perfect opportunity for him to rebuild his reputation south of the border, having boosted his confidence with a prolific patch in Scotland. Hooper has a knack for getting into the right positions at the right time, and for poaching goals the same way Owen and Fowler did in red, and if he was given the right service, he could well be the 20 goal a season striker Liverpool need to compete once more. He does have history of failure at a "big club" after his time at Spurs, but having rebuilt his reputation and confidence, he could well be ready for another shot at it.
