Liverpool Transfers: 10 Strikers Rodgers Must Bring To Anfield

7. Fernando Llorente

Club: Athletic Bilbao Linked by some (including the Sun) with a late transfer window move to Anfield that was dependent on Rodgers getting rid of Andy Carroll permanently, and recouping some of his massive transfer fee in the process, the Athletic Bilbao striker has been the subject of a lot of transfer speculation in the past year or so. Recently, the player was forced to train with the reserves, and facing jeers from his own supporters after turning down the chance to extend his current contract at the club. There may have been few teams able or willing to pay the suggested £30m buy-out fee on his contract (suggested by the Sun again), but his contract situation may change that and make him available for a far more affordable £15m or so. The 6 foot 5 inch striker would bring strength and presence at the lead of attack, with his ability with the ball at his feet just as good as his aerial prowess. Whether he would be willing to join Liverpool without the promise of Champions League football remains to be seen however, with a host of top European clubs supposedly in the running to sign him. http://youtu.be/W3R5lu5BOzs
