8. Loic Remy
Club: Marseille Having already stated their interest in Marseilles Remy, Liverpool could well move for the powerful forward this January and hope that Chelsea don't follow up their own interest in the player, who has been spent much of this term on the bench in France, despite scoring 20 goals in 42 outings last season. Remy could already have joined Chelsea, were it not for Liverpool's reluctance to sign Daniel Sturridge permanently, but it seems the Anfield side may try to pip Roberto Di Matteo's team to the signature of the highly rated forward. Liverpool can certainly offer the Frenchman first-team football, given their lack of options, and the striker would represent a versatile option, since he is capable of playing out wide or in the middle. He is pacey and powerful, and his achievement of scoring 20 goals last year is made all the more impressive considering his team's appalling form, and the fact that he had to create the majority of his chances himself. He would be exactly the sort of explosive influence Liverpool need to drag them up the league.
