3. The Chance Of Playing Champions League Football
Despite Liverpool's showing so far this season, there is still no guarantee that they will finish in the top four and qualify for the Champions League. This has been a constant sticking point for the former Ajax man, who revealed in the summer that the
Reds broke a promise to him that if they did not reach the Champions League places last season they would allow him to leave. If this is true then it's bad judgement on Liverpool's part, and it is understandable that Suarez wants to play at the top level, and based on the past year, it will be hard to come by if he remains at Anfield. Last season Liverpool were nowhere near the top four, eventually finishing 12 points off the pace in 7th position in the league table. Football is littered with players who pushed for moves simply because their club wasn't challenging in the biggest competition in the club game, and Suarez is no different. Even if the Reds do qualify for the Champions League, is it really likely that Suarez will stay?
