Daniel Sturridge's career has always been disrupted by injury, through his time at Man City, Chelsea, Liverpool, and most recently West Brom. Yet when he is fully fit and in form, there is no stopping him, as shown by his 21 league goals in the 2013/14 season.

As with Origi, Sturridge needs first team football to ever have another opportunity with his national side, yet even at full fitness he falls below Mané, Firmino and Salah in the front three pecking order. A change is needed for the Birmingham born striker, and north of the border may be just the place he needs to be.

When Scott Sinclair moved to Celtic his career was reinvigorated, and he is now an instrumental part of the best team in Scottish football. Sturridge could follow a similar route by joining Gerrard at Rangers.

There can be no doubt that the Liverpool No. 15 would light up the SPL if he could stay fit, but that is where the risk is, as his transfer wouldn't come cheap. A fit Sturridge would make a world of difference to The Gers, but an injured Sturridge would be a needless drain on funds. With a mammoth task such as Gerrard's, these are the risks he has to take.
