Liverpool Transfers: Has Danny Ings Snubbed Anfield For Spain?

Burnley boy agrees pre-contract to join David Moyes at Sociedad.

Despite his assertion that he wanted to stay at Burnley for the foreseeable future (or at least until his contract runs out in the summer), Danny Ings' future has been a massive story at the tail end of this transfer window. With his availability on a free in the summer it was assumed that the likes of Liverpool and Chelsea would fight it out to snap him up on a pre-contract and allow him to stay with the Premier League newcomers until the summer to keep them up. Burnley meanwhile are keeping schtum: they have to weigh up whether selling him now would be more valuable than any goals he might potentially score. But his future beyond the end of that contract might well be closer to being settled now, with an unlikely resolution. According to the Daily Mail - whose reports are now being widely regurgitated - the Liverpool target is set to turn his back on their desperate attempt to sign him and move to join David Moyes at Sociedad with whom he has apparently agreed a pre-contract deal. Liverpool were thought to have offered to pay £4million for Ings and loan him back to the Clarets for the rest of the season, but that was nixed by Premier League rules, so their only option would have been a similar pre-contract arrangement. Burnley meanwhile are battling Norwich City for West Brom midfielder Graham Dorrans.
