Liverpool Transfers: Ranking Brendan Rodgers's Signings From Worst To Best

7. Tiago Ilori

Tiago Ilori To be fair on Tiago Ilori, he isn't a bad signing at all, but of the eight players Brendan Rodgers signed this summer, he is the one with the most to prove following his switch from Sporting Lisbon. Ilori arrived on Anfield on the same day as PSG's Mamadou Sakho for a fee of around £7 million and the centre-back will provide fellow new signing Kolo Toure competition at the back this season. But, at 20, he has enough competition of his own and you have to wonder how regularly the young Portugal international is going to play this season, considering the Merseyside giants already have Toure, Martin Škrtel, Daniel Agger and the aforementioned Sakho. A player for the future, yes, but quite whether Ilori will make much of an impact this season remains to be seen.
