Liverpool Transfers: Ranking Brendan Rodgers's Signings From Worst To Best

6. Aly Cissokho

Aly Cissokho has not gotten off to the best of starts following his loan move to Liverpool this summer. The France international made his first start for the Reds in the dramatic Capital One Cup second-round victory over Notts County late last month, but was forced off with an ankle injury that is set to rule him out for up to six weeks. It was an unfortunate start from a player who had previously shown much promise and capability, having previously played for the likes of Porto and Lyon before his move to Valencia. Cissokho is expected to compete with Jose Enrique for the left-back slot at Liverpool when fit and joins a big roster of defenders at Anfield, following the arrivals of the aforementioned Ilori, Toure and Sakho. His presence will provide Rodgers with strength in depth but considering he's only with the Reds for the season you have to wonder if he's a long-term fix.
