Liverpool Transfers: Ranking Brendan Rodgers's Signings From Worst To Best

1. Simon Mignolet

Liverpool's stand-out performer so far this season however has been goalkeeper Simon Mignolet, who has taken over the mantle as No.1 on Merseyside following the departure of Pepe Reina on loan to Napoli. Signed from Sunderland for £9 million earlier this summer, the 25-year-old has kept a clean sheet in all three of the Red's Premier League games so far. He was also the man of the hour in his competitive debut against Stoke in the opening round of fixtures, saving a last minute penalty as the Merseysiders clung on to a 1-0 win. It looks increasingly unlikely that Reina will return to Liverpool after his season-long loan spell at Napoli ends after being angered by the way his departure came about. And if the Spaniard has played his last game for the Reds, it could be that Mignolet will retain his place as No.1 and go on to assert himself in the role for seasons to come.
