3. Stop Tottenham's Full Backs from Flying Forwards
Liverpool's wingers, likely to be Downing and Coutinho will have an added defensive duty this afternoon to limit the threat of Tottenham's full backs. Whoever plays in the full back position for Spurs has the abilty and pace to get forward and be able to hurt the opposition in an attacking sense so it is vital to stop them from getting forward and press them high up the pitch. Downing, who has spent time at left back himself this season, is a capable defender and between him and Jose Enrique they should be able to effectively keep Kyle Walker at bay, while causing him problems at the other end. The left flank is more of a worry for Liverpool, If Coutinho starts then there is a lot of pressure on Glen Johnson to deal with not only Gareth Bale but also Assou-Ekotto or Kyle Naughton as well, do not be surprised if Brendan Rodgers opts to start Jordan Henderson on the left wing for Liverpool instead of Coutinho to utilise his defensive capabilities.
