Liverpool's 10 Best Premier League Goals Ever

2. Steven Gerrard vs Manchester United - 2000/01

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j0O-uBYEOLE When Manchester United came to visit back in 2000/01, Gerrard was a 20-year-old with an increasingly growing reputation. He was proving to be a very influential player for Houllier's side, and this was a day when his value went up even further. This 35-yard thunderbolt almost broke the Anfield Road net, and Fabien Barthez had absolutely no chance. It put the Reds 1-0 against Sir Alex Ferguson's men, and Gerrard then provided the assist for Robbie Fowler, who made it 2-0 with a typically clinical finish before the break. It was a further sign that Liverpool were becoming something of a force under Houllier. Although United walked away with the title in the end, a third-place finish and three cup trophies signalled a fantastic achievement by Gerrard and the rest of his teammates. The skipper has scored many goals against Liverpool's most bitter rivals since that day over 13 years ago now, but that wonderful effort remains his best against them.
