Is there a more frustrating English player currently than Johnson? The 30-year-old has so much natural ability at his disposal, yet time and time again he fails to use it. He remains a real weak-link in Liverpool's side, and has done for a while now. Some of the right-back's supporters felt that last season he struggled because of injury, and that this time around he would be a different player. That simply hasn't been the case though. He started the campaign erratically, and he's been even worse since coming back from an injury picked up in the 3-1 loss to Manchester City in August. He has looked lackadaisical on the ball, clueless defensively, and his general level of interest looks non-existent. Quite how Rodgers continues to pick him ahead of the steady Javier Manquillo is completely baffling, and it is time the club rid themselves of him. Roma are reportedly keen on signing the former Chelsea man, whose contract at Anfield expires next summer, and as much as you want to get behind your team's players, seeing the back of Johnson will be good for the club.
