5. Djimi Traore's Burnley Nightmare
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e8DDdQ8PJms When Reds fans are asked to name their worst players to represent the club in the Premier League era, Traore is invariably nominated time and time again. The reason for that is because he was an abysmal footballer. You couldn't criticise his effort and attitude, but he was quite simply a player completely out of his depth. The left-back's crowning moment in a Liverpool shirt came in January 2005, when Benitez's side faced unfancied Burnley in the FA Cup Third Round at Turf Moor. The Spaniard was asking for trouble by naming an extremely weakened starting eleven, but there was nothing he could do about Traore's calamitous cock-up. Shortly after half-time, the then 24-year-old scored one of the FA Cup's most famous own goals. Richard Chaplow's cross looked set to be dealt with by the gangly full-back at the back post, but instead he swivelled on the ball and sent it straight into the back of Jerzy Dudek's net. The Lancashire side held on to earn a famous win, but it was the former Mali international who made the headlines. A truly woeful moment, and one that the rest of the country understandably found highly amusing.
