Man City: 3 Reasons Mancini Can Still Win The Premier League

1. 1-6

Cast your minds back to the 23rd of October 2011: a mild yet moody Sunday afternoon in the city of Manchester - the two sides take the field in what is sure to be a ferocious encounter and maybe even a title decider. Manchester City have an abysmal win record at Old Trafford, they had only won their once since 1974, Manchester United haven't lost a home game in nearly two years in the league - the stage was set for United to do what they do best, humiliate City at Old Trafford. Except this time around the Blues had other ideas. With a little help from Jonny Evans after getting himself sent off, Manchester City managed to smash 6 goals past their arch rivals in their own backyard. This was the result which changed the landscape of football in both Manchester and England: nobody had given Manchester United such a beating at home since the 1930s. Teams now went to Old Trafford with less fear than before as seen with Newcastle going sand gaining a point at a ground they also have a terrible record at a few weeks later. If this result didn't give City fans and players alike the belief that they can go to Old Trafford in April and pick up all 3 points then I'm afraid nothing will. It's much easier said than done, but all Manchester City need to is keep on winning. Manchester United will almost certainly drop points before the final day of the season and the Blues MUST take advantage of this if they stand any chance of retaining the title otherwise they may hand the silverware back over to the folks across the road. In the words of the chant which has become an ever present since the away win at Norwich last season; 'We are Man City, we'll fight to the end'. Do you think Man City can catch up to United?
