Man City 4-2 Watford - 5 Things We Learned From FA Cup Thriller

4. City's Imperious Home Form Could Be Crucial

Premier League title challenges and progress in the cup competitions are often built on rock-solid home form, and this Manchester City certainly do not lack. City's dramatic win yesterday continued their 100% record at Etihad Stadium and no English side have escaped with a win this season. Watford looked as though they may become the unlikely first for an hour on Saturday but City used their imperious form on home soil to turn the tie on its head. City's neighbours, United, have proved down the years that home dominance is key for success, with Old Trafford a fortress and a feared place to tread. One of the biggest clich這s in football is that you have to win your home games, but it's true. If you want to win the Premier League, a solid record in front of your own fans often forms the bedrock of which the title is won, and if you are fortunate enough to be drawn at home in the cup, you have to make the most of the advantage. And if you want to win the Champions League, an undefeated record on home soil could be absolutely crucial in those home-and-away legs in the latter stages. If City go the whole season undefeated at the Etihad there's certainly no reason why they can't achieve a record trophy haul come May.
