Man City 4-2 Watford - 5 Things We Learned From FA Cup Thriller
3. Watford Can Turn Their Fortunes Around
While the Manchester City machine rumbled on to untold glory, Watford find themselves in a slightly more sticky situation by contrast. The Championship club are now out of the FA Cup and languishing in 15th place in England's second tier. Things may look bleak, but if they can replicate their performance against City yesterday for the remainder of the season, they will have little to worry about. Watford sparkled against the Citizens in the first half on Saturday and commanded a fully-deserved two-nil lead at half time after hitting their more illustrious opponents on the break. The brave Hornets more than held their own and it looked for an hour as though they would become the first English side to leave the Etihad with a win. Even though they were undone in the end, they can take great confidence from this, and their spirited performance here may well serve as the catalyst to propel them up the table.
