Alvaro Negredo bagged a hattrick and Sergio Aguero produced a man-of-the-match performance as Man City ran riot at the Etihad in a convincing Champions League victory against CSKA Moscow. The home side were awarded a penalty for a foul on David Silva in the third minute of the game. Sergio Aguero scored from the resulting spot kick to put Man City 1-0 up. The Argentine international then doubled his side's lead after 20 minutes. Turning in the area, Aguero side-footed his shot into the bottom corner leaving the 'keeper with no chance. Aguero was involved in City's third goal around the half-hour mark. Picking up the ball on the right-hand side, he waited for his strike-partner Negredo to make a run into the six-yard box where he then fed him the ball into with Negredo having the simplest of tasks in putting the ball into an empty net. Seydou Doumbia pulled one back for the visitors at the end of the first-half - breaking the offside trap and rounding Pantilimon in goal to finish into an empty net. Minutes into the second-half, Negredo scored his second and Man City's fourth of the night. Yaya Toure chipped a pass to Samir Nasri in the area, and the Frenchman laid the ball on to the advancing Negredo for another tap-in. CSKA were awarded a penalty after Gael Clichy was adjudged to have fouled Seydou Doumbia in the area. The striker scored from the resulting spot-kick to make it 4-2 with less than 20 minutes of normal time remaining. Negredo got his hattrick in the dying minutes of the game, heading home from a James Milner cross, to wrap up a comprehensive 5-2 win against the Russian outfit.
