Man City Transfers: 10 Players Screwed By Citizens’ Ludicrous Transfer Policies

2. Jack Rodwell

After excelling for Everton, Jack Rodwell was picked up by Manchester City in 2012. An academy graduate of the Toffees, Rodwell was one of the Merseysider's stand-out performers between 2007-12, making 85 Premier League appearances and attracting interest from City. However, he should have heeded Adam Johnson's advice because there was no room for the starlet to grow at Eastlands, with Rodwell lasting just two seasons before being sold to Sunderland earlier this summer. With Yaya Toure in the frame, the defensive midfielder found first-team opportunities scarce, making just five league appearances last season. Rodwell's career looked bright during his Everton days and a move to a Premier League team in the top four should have catapulted his career. Instead, he found himself unwanted thanks to City's policy of buying in big-name stars and the former Everton graduate was a small fish in a very big pond at Etihad Stadium.
