City signed these players believing they had acquired some of Europe's top talents, when in reality they turned out to be nothing more than flops for the Blues. Here's a look at 10 of City's worst signings of recent times...

10. Jerome Boateng

jerome boateng German international Boateng arrived at City from Hamburg in 2010 for a fee of £10.4 million, but failed to make an impact during his year long spell at the club. It wasn't long before Blues fans grew frustrated with his lackluster performances and sluggish pace, and the defender soon fell out of favour with boss Roberto Mancini. Boateng needed time to adapt to English football, having only played in the much slower paced Bundesliga previously, but didn't get it at a club hungry for immediate success. In 2011, after just one year at the club, Boateng asked to leave to join German giants Bayern Munich, believing the move would improve his chances of playing for his National team.
