Man City Transfers: 10 Terrible Signings Of Recent Years

9. Benjani

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=437KX5VcxnA Benjani signed for City in 2008 after impressing during his time at Portsmouth, but only managed 23 appearances in two years for the Blues, netting just 4 times. City signed him for £3.87 million, meaning each of his goals cost the club just short of £1 million. To add insult to injury, City didn't get any of their transfer fee back when the Zimbabwean's contract expired and he became a free agent. When Benjani left City, he struggled to find a new club and began training with Blackburn Rovers in the hope of impressing and earning a deal. He went on to sign for the Rovers before reuniting with former club Portsmouth in 2011.
