6. Georgios Samaras

Back in 2006, when City's funds weren't as unlimited as they are today, Blues fans were excited by the
£6 million signing of 6ft 4 forward Georgios Samaras. But City supporters were soon to learn that Samaras lacked virtually everything a Premier League striker requires. Despite his presence, Samaras was weak, often getting out muscled by opponents. He was also slow and had poor ball control, but most importantly, he struggled to find the back of the net. Two years and 12 goals later, Samaras left City and signed for Scottish club Celtic for a fee believed to be between
£1 million and £3 million.
