Man City Transfers: 5 Flops That Need To Leave In The Summer

2. Edin Dzeko

Despite Edin Dzeko being City's third highest goalscorer this season, there are many who believe that is only the case due to the departure of Mario Balotelli in January. The stats show that following the Italian's move to AC Milan, the Bosnian has featured in nearly every single one of City's 11 games since the turn of the year. Prior to that, however, he only played two full games and had to settle for appearances from the bench with Mancini heavily favouring a front-two pairing of Carlos Tevez and Sergio Aguero. You see, being the club's third highest scorer is no big deal when the club only has three forwards to begin with. Throughout his City career, the former Wolfsburg star has failed to live up to those goal-laden years he enjoyed in Germany that saw him plunder 36 goals in the 2008/09 season. His highest scoring season for the Sky Blues yielded just 19 strikes and he has never looked like living up to the £27 million price tag City paid for him. Mancini left the metaphorical door open for him to leave in the summer and the actual, very real exit door could beckon in the summer.
