Man City Transfers: 5 Players Who Should Exit This Summer

1. Yaya Toure

Media Image LtdMedia Image LtdWithout a doubt, Manchester City's biggest challenge this summer is holding onto Yaya Toure, but the threat of losing the midfield general has grown increasingly realistic since the end of the season, as both incoming bids and Toure's personal desire to leave have become real concerns. Aguero's niggling injuries and Edin Dzeko's constant fluctuation of form will leave City desperate for regular goal-scorers if Toure was to leave, even though he is typically not a striker. Additionally, his bullish style on the field was the driving force behind their league success, and he would arguably be the biggest loss possible from the current crop of players. He won't go cheaply however, as 24 goals and nine assists in the last campaign would undoubtedly see him depart for an astronomical fee. However City would have to act immediately in finding an adequate replacement, but frankly, there are very few like Yaya Toure. He is a combative, all-action midfielder, strong defensively and going forward, and his vision and free-kick taking skills are second to none. The main stumbling block over any move would be money: who could actually afford him? A return to Barcelona would have been ideal until the Catalonians signed Ivan Rakitic, so one could speculate that PSG will be next in line for Toure - they'll certainly give him enough money to make him feel cherished.
